Our Projects: Latymer Upper School, Sports Centre

Latymer Upper School’s original sports centre which was built in 1980 had become outdated and in need of  modernisation. Having worked with the school for many years Synergy were appointed to assist with a feasibility study for a complete rebuild in place of the original single storey building.

Based on this study the decision was taken to develop a larger, state-of-the-art, two-storey building to support the schools commitment to promote excellence in sport. The stunning new sports centre provides a wealth of world class facilities including a 25m six- lane swimming pool with floating floor, wet and dry changing facilities, a fitness studio and two fully glazed studios to allow for a broad range of activities including one equipped with a bouldering wall. Adjoining the new building the existing sports hall has also been completely refurbished with new pale wood cladding and sprung floor and outside a new netball court.  Externally the majority of the building has been clad in grey fibre cement panels with the upper floors clad in a mixture of clear and translucent Schueco panels flooding natural light into the upper levels.
