Restoration of North Side of Bath Abbey Completed!

Two-thirds of Bath Abbey’s historic floor have now been fully restored and saved from collapse as part of Phase 2 of the Abbey’s Footprint project.

Bath Abbey Footprint Project Striding Ahead

After challenges and delays accompanying phase one, the second phase of works inside the Abbey is advancing well with the re-laying of the ledger stones in the North Transept now underway.

First section of Footprint Project successfully completed!

After one year on site, the East End and Crossing of Bath Abbey is finally open to the public again. From Monday 10 June 2019, visitors to Bath Abbey can walk on the repaired floor for the first time!

Bath Abbey Footprint Project Well Underway

Five months on site and alongside some fascinating archaeological discoveries, the Footprint Project is well underway. The Abbey’s historic floor is made up of 891 ledgerstones, more than any other church in the country.

Second phase of Footprint Project has commenced
