Synergy take on a “World Record” project

Synergy Partner, Jon Cook was presented with perhaps one of the most unusual challenges of his career when he was asked by our client Benenden School to officiate their attempt to set a new official Guinness World Record Challenge for the longest continuous line of cookies.

The girls of Benenden School created an enormous version of their school logo measuring 315 metres and using more than 3,300 cookies. This impressive baked line smashed the previous record set last year by Turkish company Turyagh, whose line of 1,916 cookies measured 152.28 metres in May 2018.

Jon was not only asked to assist the school because of his Cook–ie inspired surname, but because of the strict guidelines set by the Guinness Book of Records which require a Chartered Surveyor to inspect the completed item and take its physical dimensions.

Pat Connelly from Buxton Building Contractors Ltd and Jenny Howard from Synergy were also pleased to help – especially when they heard that the cookies needed to be eaten up at the end! The school now await to hear if their efforts will be ratified and if the world record is theirs.
