Our Projects: The Newt in Somerset
Opened in August 2019, The Newt in Somerset is a country estate like no other. Situated between Bruton and Castle Cary, visitors are treated to an unequalled ‘Somerset’ experience.
The luxury Grade II*-listed hotel majestically stands at the core. Its Palladian façade adorned in golden limestone softly glowing within the glorious and expansive woodland and gardens.
Flawlessly mixing modern and old, the hotel provides 23 bedrooms and bathrooms, some in the main house, others in former stable blocks.
The hotel’s sumptuous facilities include a spa with sauna, salt, steam room and beautiful pool leading to a heated indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy pool, as well as a glass-walled gym tucked away in the garden.
A stay at The Newt does not finish with the relaxed and beautiful accommodation though. The immersive ‘Somerset’ experience must also include a visit to the cyder press, bottling plant and bar.
And if guests can tear themselves away from the Estate’s very own apple crushed cyder, the Mushroom House, farm shop, treetop walkway, gelateria and The Story of Gardening further enrich this incredible visitor experience.
Synergy were privileged to be part of the team commissioned with transforming the country estate into a ‘must-visit’ destination for the Emily Estate (UK) Ltd.
We were delighted to hear that this project has been shortlisted for South West Region RICS Social Impact Awards 2020 in the Leisure category.
