Sectors
Places of Worship
Our project work in this sector includes the repair and conservation of historic fabric, as well as enhancing spaces for both worship and wider community use.
Synergy has proudly worked with several of the country’s finest Cathedrals, alongside numerous Parish Churches, Chapels and other non-conformist places of worship.
Sensitively integrating modern facilities within heritage settings is paramount to ensuring their longevity and cultural significance. Our projects have included WCs, cafes, re-ordering, lighting schemes, shops, interpretation areas, choir schools and offices to name a few.
We also help our clients to introduce low-carbon technologies such as air source heat pumps, underfloor heating and energy-efficient lighting without compromising the integrity of the historic structure. Every intervention is guided by a deep respect for the building’s architectural character.
A number of these projects are partly funded by external grants and therefore commissions can involve assistance in the preparation of initial grant applications, and subsequent submissions for draw down of grants from donors as the work proceeds.

Testimonials

“We engaged Synergy as our Project Manager and Cost Consultant for the development phase of Bath Abbeys £19.3 million Footprint project. Synergy has consistently provided careful and considered Project Management and Cost Consultancy support and guidance to the Abbey and the rest of Footprint team truly ‘getting under the skin’ of the project to fully understand our future needs and develop with us a well-considered design and sensitive construction solution.”
“Synergy were chosen following a competitive tender process, which showed that Synergy were competitive on price and had good experience of the type of works, the form of contract, and working with our likely contractors and our chosen Architect. The relationship with Synergy has proved problem free, with measurements and cost reports provided on time, and additional advice provided when requested. All in all an excellent appointment for us.”
