Our Projects: Gloucester Cathedral Project Pilgrim

Appointed in 2012 to provide the Cathedral with early cost advice for Project Pilgrim, Synergy’s QS team were     subsequently appointed to implement phase one.

Phase one of the Pilgrim Project reached completion in summer 2018 with Synergy providing support throughout, including assistance with the preparation of the National Lottery Heritage Fund bid right through to the delivery stage of this project.

Phase one included; transforming the Cathedral’s car park to improve the approach to the Cathedral and to create a welcoming public space; conserving and representing the 15th Century Lady Chapel; improvements to the welcome within the Cathedral and access throughout; improving the quality of interpretation including within the new Tribune Gallery exhibition space; and improving the environmental sustainability of the Cathedral with the installation of 150 solar panels on the nave roof.

Synergy were delighted to be involved with this project and to support this spectacular building fulfil its important role in the life of Gloucester and the surrounding county.
