Our Sectors: Heritage
Synergy has over 35 years experience in the Heritage Sector and our merger with Bare Leaning and Bare in 2008 enhanced the practice’s skill base. We are proud to offer our clients a wealth of experience in the cost and project management of repairs and alterations to heritage buildings. Synergy relishes being part of the conservation process and is committed to training and being at the forefront of research into the care and conservation of our heritage. Our heritage team is passionate about conservation, with many of our staff holding post graduate diplomas in building conservation. Many of the projects we are involved with are only possible by external funding from grant making bodies such HLF, Cadw, ERDF and various trust funds. We assist our clients by being an active part of the application process and the drawing down of grants to assist cashflows.
All local authorities have ownership of historic buildings in their property portfolios and are responsible for their care. Synergy’s heritage team supports our local authority clients and offers significant experience in working with public historic buildings. We have rich knowledge of the requirement of philosophy of repair to these public buildings and appreciate the difficulties of working within limited budgets.
As part of our works we often are involved with option appraisals, business planning and feasibility studies to find new and productive uses for existing buildings so that they cease to be a drain on a local authority’s finances, but instead are maintained and accessibility improved for use by the local community.
