Bath Abbey Footprint Project Shortlisted in RIBA South West Awards

Bath Abbey continues to be recognised for it’s ambitious and transformative Footprint Project, which is one of 15 projects shortlisted for a RIBA South West Award.

The project has conserved historic parts of the Abbey and has innovatively improved sustainability so the Abbey can continue to play an active role in the community for many years to come. The Abbey’s collapsing floor has been meticulously restored with the lifting of all 891 ledgerstones and low carbon underfloor heating has been introduced, powered by the City’s natural hot springs.

We are delighted to have worked on this incredible project, providing Cost Consultancy and Project Management services.

RIBA South West Jury Chair Graham Bizley, of Prewett Bizley Architects, said:

“It’s particularly heartening to see the projects carbon credentials which demonstrate a commitment to low-carbon and low-energy construction.”
