Copper Phase at Canalside progressing well – ten months in

Canalside is a major new housing development that will see the regeneration of Sheerwater on the outskirts of Woking, Surrey.

We are now ten months into the 2-year construction programme on Copper Phase which sees the development of 88 low-rise dwellings.

Contractor Life Build is on programme as construction of the first houses reaches roof level. Much of the site infrastructure, including below ground drainage and mains services have been completed.

It has been designed to provide a contemporary and sustainable ‘Garden Suburb’ with high quality dwellings and improved open green spaces with the integration of a public linear park. With the government’s net-zero emissions target, these homes have been thoughtfully designed with the climate in mind. The central heating and hot water is provided using air source heat pumps assisted by solar thermal and solar PV panels on the roofs.

The homes will cater for people of all ages, these include lifetime homes and homes for first time buyers.

Synergy has been working on this project for several years; other phases which have already been completed so far include the Purple Residential Phase and the Leisure Centre at Bishop David Brown School.

Synergy is providing Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent Services.
