Energy Costs Rising and Building Fabric Deteriorating? How do you prioritise effectively?

With the government’s ambitious net zero strategy now set out and energy costs exponentially rising, schools are faced with the complex task of balancing decarbonisation alongside maintenance and repair of their existing building stock.

School estates are often in poor condition and addressing the question of prioritising where to target expenditure on improving energy consumption as well as fabric condition is key to good custodianship.

Taking a holistic approach by undertaking a combined heat decarbonisation and planned preventative maintenance plan helps schools to make informed decisions by providing the opportunity to clearly see the available energy savings alongside the most pressing building fabric issues.
