Education
Education has been at the heart of our practice for more than 60 years. During this time, we’ve successfully delivered projects of all types, values, and complexities.
We recognise that every school has its own distinct needs and challenges, so from the very beginning we take the time to understand our clients’ aspirations, and work alongside them to achieve them. Our goal is to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible, minimising disruption so schools can stay focused on what matters most—their students and staff members.
We also assist with strategic estate planning that aligns building condition, development priorities and future needs. Our Planned Preventative Maintenance surveys (PPM) provide a risk-based, prioritised, forward-looking plan of all the buildings within an estate portfolio. We take a retrofit ‘fabric first’ approach to improving energy efficiency that measures fabric performance when upgrading building systems.
Single & Multi-Academy Trusts
We support academies and MATs through ensuring we fully understand their priorities for development, maintenance and repair.
We are adept at proposing innovative solutions that not only focus on the school’s key requirements but also minimise disruption and obtaining the best value for money.
Highly experienced in strategic estate planning, we support multi-academy trusts with the efficient distribution of their School Condition Allocation (SCA) by aligning the condition of buildings with future need. We also help academies who qualify for the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) and prepare robust and bespoke bid applications to ensure the best chance of securing funds for capital projects.
Synergy is also an Approved Partner of the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL).
Independent Schools
Our work spans new builds, refurbishments, extensions, and maintenance projects, covering facilities such as sixth form centres, sports centres, boarding houses, teaching blocks, libraries, dining halls, science labs, and performing arts centres.
We are closely associated with The Independent Schools’ Bursars Association (ISBA) which further enhances our working knowledge in this sector. We have been a headline partner of their conference for many years and attended the ISBA Conference 2025 at the Manchester Central Convention Centre as an event sponsor.
Community & Voluntary Aided Schools
We understand the pressures on Headteachers of Community and Diocesan schools, who are responsible not only for education but also for their buildings. For over 60 years, we have supported schools with a wide range of construction and property services.
We provide a personal, accessible service focused on delivering high-quality learning environments while minimising disruption and keeping schools fully operational.
Our work ranges from minor repairs and classroom extensions to the feasibility, design and delivery of new schools. We also offer surveys, maintenance advice, space planning and support in securing funding.
Colleges & Universities
Synergy’s expertise in the Further and Higher Education sector is extensive and we have been working with some of our university clients for over 20 years. We understand the unique pressures our clients face and offer a proactive, comprehensive service that delivers first class educational and research facilities giving students the very best environment to achieve their goals and ambitions.
Our diverse experience includes a range of building uses including complex laboratories, student halls, lecture theatres and other support areas.

“Synergy were project managers and quantity surveyors on our new £6.25m Sixth Form Service. The construction was let and delivered during COVID-19 and the quality of their advice was excellent in dealing with the unprecedented challenges this caused. The project also came in perfectly in line with the budget we set at the outset which was a fantastic result.”
“We worked with Synergy on the delivery of a £4.5m rebuild of a block of technology and art classrooms – from feasibility to project completion. The team were professional and collaborative at all times, and went the extra mile in terms of the final stages and snagging. The end result is a high quality space for teaching and learning that will enable the school to grow.”
“Synergy team provided excellent support, advice and guidance throughout the project on areas such as complex planning conditions, design, cost and construction alongside ensuring that the normal school operations were not disrupted. Synergy is a valued partner to the Trust and has supported various capital projects across trust schools including expansion and Condition Improvement Fund. I look forward to working with them on future projects.”
“We wanted to express our thanks to you and your team for all your hard work. The successful delivery of an ambitious programme of works can be recognised across the BET estate, which in turn provides a positive environment for all our pupils to thrive and succeed. Jubilee alone is an amazing transformation.”
“In all matters relating to project management, budgeting, cost control and cost reporting, Synergy has consistently provided us with an impeccable service. We have already commissioned them for further work and I have no hesitation in recommending their expertise to other potential clients.”
