St Mary’s Watford reaches completion

We are delighted that our project at St Mary’s Church in Watford has now reached completion. The Grade I listed church which was reordered in Victorian times by GG Scott has been modernised and refurbished.

The pews have been removed and the timber ingeniously re-worked to form wall panelling and much needed storage cupboards.

The choir stalls have also been reconfigured.  These modifications have allowed for the floor to be levelled and for underfloor heating to be installed, prior to the fitting of a new stone floor to the main body of the church and a raised timber floor with ramps providing easy access to the front of the church and chancel.

The existing stone has been reinstated where ever possible.  Together with the replacement of the lights this has provided a flexible space combining old with new.

Synergy provided Cost consultancy services on this project.

With thanks to Des Hill from MEB Design Ltd. (Project Architect) for the photos.
