Works to transform Glastonbury Abbey’s Visitor Entrance are underway

We are delighted to be providing Project Management and Cost Consultancy services on the Glastonbury Abbey Piazza Project. Works by Qube Construct commenced on site in March and swift progress has been made over the past month.

The ambitious development aims to improve the Abbey’s visibility, accessibility and connection to the town by transforming the entrance into a world-class visitor centre and community space.

Existing buildings are being refurbished and expanded to create a rejuvenated shop and café, improved visitor reception and toilet facilities, and a new landscaped piazza space.

The project is part of the Glastonbury Town Deal funded by the UK Government and has received additional funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Garfield Weston Foundation, the Headley Trust, Wolfson Foundation and Benefact Trust.

The works are due to be completed in Autumn 2024.
