Our Projects: George Abbot Teaching Block Refurbishment
GEP Academies is a Multi Academy Trust comprising a cross-phase family of seven schools in Guildford and the surrounding areas. Synergy has been working with the MAT for a number of years across their schools.
George Abbot School is part of the Trust and work was required to repair and reinstate a fire damaged teaching block.
Although fire was confined to one corner of the building, damage to the ceilings revealed asbestos throughout. The project comprised gutting the entire building, internal repairs, full ceiling replacement and a complete refurbishment including recladding in some areas. Temporary accommodation was provided for students during the works.
The newly named Moloney teaching block is now fully operational and provides an outstanding teaching environment for SEND support and photography.
Synergy’s Building Surveying Team were delighted to assist the Trust with this project from inception through to completion on site in November 2019.
