Our Projects: Ryde School, Isle Of Wight, New Boarding House
Ryde School is a thriving independent day and boarding school on the Isle of Wight providing a unique and supportive learning environment for boys and girls aged 2 1/2 to 18 years. Boarding options are available from the age of 10 and attract pupils from the Island, UK mainland and internationally.
The new boarding house, Centenary House, provides accommodation for 68 boarders in single and twin rooms, most with en-suite facilities. The light and airy study rooms offer glorious views, many with stunning sea views across the Solent to Portsmouth and the Spinnaker Tower.
The £5m project which is due for completion in the Summer Term also provides a large family kitchen, various social and study spaces, staff accommodation and a large common room with access to the garden and wider School grounds of over 17 acres.
Soon to be planted and part of the front elevation is a living wall which will provide a beautiful multi-sensory focal point to the entrance to the new boarding house.
The new accommodation compliments the existing boarding facilities within the school grounds and enables children to flexi, weekly or fully board on the Isle of Wight from anywhere in the world. As the School website states, truly an ‘island school with a global vision’.
