Our roadmap to net zero
Twelve months ago we started working with specialist sustainability officer Alectro, who are supporting us with our net zero journey. They have been helping us to analyse our company-wide environmental impact in line with GHG Protocol.
With Alecto’s streamlined reporting system, we robustly measure our carbon emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3. We are one of the few in our industry to measure and publicly report our emissions on a per-employee basis, providing a clear picture of our environmental impact.
We have purchased carbon credits to neutralise our current footprint, which made us carbon neutral in 2024. Through employee enagagement, we have chosen to support the following Gold Standard verified projects which advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals:
However, we understand the complexities involved in using carbon offsets and view it as just one of many steps to mitigate our environmental impact in our net zero transition.
Synergy is dedicated to making meaningful change through reducing our emissions through efficiency and behavioural changes. We are currently implementing a range of carbon reduction initiatives to propel our organisation towards net zero.
We also recognise the importance of transparent communication and demonstrate this through our new Climate Clarity Badge. This links to our public online hub that provides data, progress and core reporting on our net zero efforts to date.
