Reviving Woodhouse Farm: repair and renovations well underway

Woodhouse Farm, Essex, is home to a variety of dilapidated heritage buildings in and around a 15th Century moat that are being restored and made into a heritage visitor site.

The agricultural complex neighbours the former RAF Rivenhall airfield and a nearby IWMF – Integrated Waste Management Facility – which is currently under construction to the south of the farm. Once restored to their former glory, the buildings will be open to the public as a local heritage and airfield museum and visitor centre.

Extensive restoration works to the timber-framed Farmhouse dating back to the early 17th Century began this month after lying derelict for many years.

Also underway is work to the Grade II listed Brewhouse followed by the repair of Woodhouse Cottage, a post-war steel frame high barn and an all-but collapsed Feed Barn which are in various states of disrepair.

Synergy is delighted to be providing cost consultancy services on this project.
