Our Projects: St Edmund’s Catholic School New Art Block

We have successfully delivered a new state-of-the-art, four-storey art and teaching block at St Edmund’s Catholic School, replacing an existing art building that had reached the end of its useful life and no longer met the school’s educational requirements.

The old building was demolished and the new building was constructed in its place.

The new 474sqm facility provides significantly increased internal space than the previous building. The improved layouts allow pupils to work more effectively, collaboratively, and comfortably across a range of subjects.

The steel-framed building accommodates art, home economics, textiles, computer, music and general classrooms. It has been completed with first-class finishes and brand new furniture and equipment.

The building is fully mechanically ventilated, with air conditioning provided to ensure a comfortable internal environment during the summer months. In addition, photovoltaic (PV) panels were installed on the roof to support energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

The project was delivered within the 18-month programme and within budget.
