James has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry within diverse sectors, including the conservation, restoration, and refurbishment of historic buildings, high-spec residential refurbishments, museums, hotels, educational facilities, and retail fit-out projects.

He has worked with some of the country's leading architects and worked with clients ranging from the private sector to multinational companies.

James’s project portfolio includes notable clients such as The Newt in Somerset. He has provided cost consultancy services on numerous projects over the last 9 years including the transformation of the Grade II*-listed building at the estate's core into a luxury hotel, and the construction of new estate buildings to create a commercially viable visitor attraction.

Among its highlights is the award-winning 'The Story of Gardening' museum and the Roman Villa museum along with the newly completed “Creamery” at Castle Cary Station.
