Rob joined Parker & Browne in 1994 to complement the existing team undertaking the refurbishment of Selfridges in Oxford Street and was responsible for the successful completion of the complex Central Escalator project.
Rob was appointed an associate of the practice in 1998, a Partner of the firm in 2000 and following the mergers in 2007, is a founding Partner of Synergy. Rob became Managing partner in 2013 and leads the quantity surveying division at Synergy.
Rob has experience of a wide variety of building types, including work in the commercial, education, ecclesiastical, mixed use and leisure sectors.
Stuart is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years experience advising Clients within the Commercial, Industrial and Education sectors. Having joined Synergy in 2007, he became an Equity Partner in 2011 and was appointed Managing Partner in 2014.
Stuart is the Partner responsible for our Building Surveying, Project Management and Health and Safety Teams as well as the Marketing and Business Development function for the Practice.
Stuart offers advice on many aspects of the property and construction process. This includes due diligence activity (pre-acquisition and defects surveys) schedules of condition; dilapidation liabilities and similar strategic advice in respect of his Clients land and property ownership/occupation. He also acts as a Contract Administrator/Employers Agent on a variety of construction projects from inception, through the design and pre-contract process, procurement and post contract activity.
Stuart also provides Party Wall advice to both Building and Adjoining Owners under the Party Wall legislation.
Simon joined Parker & Browne upon leaving school in 1978, working part time to gain his professional qualification in 1985. After a brief spell working with British Airports Authority, he re-joined Parker & Browne in 1987 as an Associate, was made a Partner in 1991, Finance Partner in 2005 and Managing Partner of Synergy in 2008.
Simon has worked on some high profile legal cases, notably a multi-million pound fraud case at the Old Bailey and was also responsible for redrafting the Leisure rating manual which has now been used by over 500 Local Authorities.
Simon was recently seconded to act as head of commercial, programming and construction management activities, as part of the EDF Energy London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games teams, responsible for £300m of infrastructure works.
Anne-Marie joined Arthur Young in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1988 and on completion of her Articles of Clerkship went on to establish her own accountancy practice in Harare, specialising in tax, business management and consultancy, including mergers and acquisitions. The client base was very prestigious including close ties with Ernst and Young.
Anne-Marie immigrated to the United Kingdom with her family in 2001 and joined Lee Associates and then The GBC Partnership, now part of Moore Stephens LLP (Guildford), managing the audit department. It was with The GBC Partnership, back in 2006, that she first became involved in the financial affairs of CM Parker Browne, a founding partnership of Synergy, and in 2008, the LLP asked Anne-Marie to join the organisation as Finance Partner, a position that she has held since July 2008.
Anne-Marie's strong technical knowledge and broad practical and professional experience is very beneficial to the continued guidance of the growth and development of Synergy.
Architect - Partner
Peter became a chartered architect and RIBA member in 1981, having studied at the Liverpool University School of Architecture, graduating in 1980. Peter then worked for the London practice of GMBN architects, and was project architect for the design and physical arrangements at the Papal Mass at Wembley Stadium in 1982, having won the commission in competition.
Peter joined Johnson and Partners in 1984, becoming an equity partner in 1986 and is now a Partner of Synergy following the merger in 2008. He has gained considerable experience in private and social housing developments, educational projects, hotels, and a variety of commercial and residential buildings and refurbishments, including listed buildings. Peter has led the architecture division of Johnson and Partners since 1990.
Paul joined Cook and Butler in 1991, gaining his professional qualification in the same year. He was made an Associate in 2000 and a Partner in 2002. Cook and Butler became a founder member of Synergy Construction and Property Consultants LLP in April 2007.
In this time he has worked across a wide variety of sectors, building types and procurement routes, but currently specialises in education and commercial projects.
After 5 years on secondment to BAA from Cyril Sweet Limited, Stephen joined CM Parker Browne as an Associate in 2002. He was appointed Partner in 2004 and following the mergers in 2007, he is now a founding Partner of Synergy.
In addition to being the Partner in charge of the Government City Academies programme for one of our major clients, he is very much involved in the firms marketing operations and is always on the lookout for new business opportunities both locally and nationally.
An Associate Governor of Christ's College, Guildford, Stephen also takes an active part in the Surrey Chamber of Commerce, the Guildford Business Forum and the Guildford Property and Transport Group.
Duncan joined Bare, Leaning & Bare in 1990 and progressed within the practice to become an Associate in 2003 and a Partner of Synergy following the merger of the two companies in 2008.
He has gained vast experience in the conservation, restoration and refurbishment of historic buildings, ranging from cathedrals, country houses and town houses to humble cottages.
Duncan lectures on Costs and Contracts for Historic Buildings to students undertaking the Historic Building Conservation course at Bath University.
Paul's construction career started immediately from school, undertaking a four year apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. After working on a number of historic buildings, it wasn't too long before Paul was managing multi-million pound projects on some of the country's finest historic buildings.
With proven project management skills and his ability to ensure the highest standards of work is achieved with projects being delivered to programme, Paul joined CM Parker Browne in 2002 and was made a Partner of Synergy in 2008.
His excellent team leadership and relationship building skills are coupled with realistic decision making and good financial and technical understanding. With an MSc in Building Conservation, Paul has developed skills in managing challenging projects within listed buildings, scheduled monuments, historic royal palaces, security sensitive and consular buildings.
Tony joined Parker & Browne in 1988, became an Associate in 2000 and Partner in 2004. Following the mergers in 2007, he is a now a founding Partner of Synergy.
Within the Practice Tony is responsible for all our work within the Diocese of Southwark Schools.
His expertise is in the education sector, designing and delivering projects in accordance with the DFES requirements for private and voluntary aided schools.
Tony is a Governor of St Mary's Infant School in Frensham.
Jon is a founding Partner of Synergy and one of it’s longest serving members, commencing his employment with Parker and Browne in 1991 as an assistant surveyor, primarily to work on a nationwide contract of refrigeration installations for Tesco Stores Ltd.
Jon was appointed an Associate of the practice in 1997 and promoted to Partner in 2003. Jon has in excess of 25 years experience in all aspects of quantity surveying, contract administration and project management. He has been instrumental in forging strong relationships with some of Synergy’s most loyal clients. Jon’s portfolio includes work in both Education and Commercial sectors, with clients such as UK Power Networks on the delivery of £300m infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympics, as well as several Independent schools including Caterham School, Luckley House School and Walthamstow Hall School.
David joined CM Parker Browne in 1989 and became a Partner of Synergy in 2008.
David is an experienced project manager and has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from bank and department store fit outs, to acting as clients construction project manager for a number of new Academy schools.
David is now using his project management skills on the sports surfaces side of the business, where he has broad experience in new synthetic pitches for hockey, football, tennis and athletics and multi use games areas.
William joined Cook and Butler as a graduate in 1986 and became a junior member of Synergy following the mergers in April 2008.
William has vast experience in a wide variety of construction projects and in particular educational and commercial refurbishment projects.
His specialisms include cost planning, cost control, contract procedures and procurement options.
After graduating from the University of Westminster with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Neil started his quantity surveying career in the Facilities Management department of McBains Cooper in 1993 where he gained experience working on two major Public Authority Term contracts for the Court Service and The Health and Safety Executive.
Neil joined Parker and Browne in March 1997 and gained his Chartered certification in 1999. He was made a Partner in April 2008.
Neil has gained experience and knowledge in the procurement and running of a broad range of construction projects, in particular education and residential schemes.
Declan is a Chartered Building Surveyor and has been with Synergy Construction and Property Consultants LLP since 2002.
Declan works closely with a variety of schools mainly in the South of England overseeing extension and refurbishment projects from conception to completion and takes on the role of Contract Administrator and Lead designer.
He has successfully assisted numerous schools and academies in the preparation of bid documents to help them secure funding for new projects. In addition he has assisted schools with all stages of projects from feasibility /scheme proposals to detailed designing and statutory approvals including building regulations and planning.
Although primarily education based, Declan is also experienced in refurbishments in the leisure and ecclesiastical sectors.
Ron has been with Synergy for 10 years and is a highly experienced Project Manager with over 25 years in the industry. Ron is skilled in all aspects of Project Management though every stage of the development process; from feasibility, planning and design through to final construction. Ron’s main contracting background brings a wealth of knowledge to all his projects.
Ron has worked on a variety of projects from new builds to refurbishments for both public and private sector clients. In particular Ron has significant experience in the Education sector and has supported many schools with their development ambitions. Ron’s ethos is always to go the extra mile and to find positive outcomes to even the most complex challenges for his clients.
