Next Low Carbon Skills Fund Round Fast Approaching

Guidance has recently been published by Salix on how organisations can apply for Phase 5 of the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF5).

The scheme has made £16 million available to public sector organisations, including schools, and is becoming increasingly competitive with each phase.

The Grant Funding will allow organisations to engage specialist support for the development of a Heat Decarbonisation Plan (HDP) that will map out decarbonisation and energy efficiency works. The HDP will help an organisation/school understand their position in the journey to becoming Net Zero, highlight possible cost savings and provide next steps to introducing low carbon measures.

This HDP can then be used to unlock further Capital Grant Funding when applying for the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS4) to deliver the proposed projects.

Synergy’s specialist funding team, work hand in hand with trusted partners who are specialists in estate-wide building decarbonisation. Together, we can help your school prepare and submit a detailed application that highlights a prioritised energy strategy aligned with the condition and lifespan of your school buildings.

There are a few changes to the application process in the latest phase, including the removal of the first come first served approach with Salix adopting a new Phase 5 Application Form that all applicants must complete in full and submit via the application portal. The window is going to be open for at least 2 weeks on the Wednesday 17th April, closing on Wednesday 1st May.

With the short application window fast approaching, it’s paramount that organisations get in touch for expert advice from a consultancy such as Synergy as soon as possible to ensure that all the necessary details can be gathered in time. Please contact enquiries@synergyllp.com.
