Helping the RHS create a greener future

Helping the RHS create a greener future

Synergy is thrilled to announce our appointment as Cost Consultant and Employer’s Agent for the new National Centre for Horticultural Science and Learning at the iconic RHS Garden Wisley.

Designed by architects Wilkinson Eyre, the new facilities will include three purpose built laboratories supporting diagnostics, molecular and environmental research.

These laboratories will be home to a specialist team focused on finding solutions to the key environmental challenges faced by gardeners.

The centre will also house a new herbarium and digitisation suite. Currently the RHS Herbarium holds the UK’s largest collection of cultivated plants, with more than 86,000 dried plant specimens. The new facilities will allow the RHS to preserve, digitise and expand its precious collection.

In addition, the centre will include a new library and archive to safeguard the future of over 80,000 books and artefacts charting over 500 years of gardening history as well as 30,000 works of botanical art.

Finally, the centre will feature two accessible learning studios and a teaching garden, as well as a main public atrium at its heart, to engage visitors of all ages with the power of plants.

Synergy are delighted to be involved with this inspirational project.
